Evolving artistic styles, evolving culture.

Charles D. Hill

Charles Hill is a multi talented artist that explores both abstract, portrait and even culinary projects. Beside his art you can find his Hot Pot chef books at the Be Free gallery!

“As an inspiring artist with compete understanding of art theory from my BA in Humanities, I, Charles Hill, have transformed my purpose from expressing myself over traumatic events and healing to combating stigmas built by the Justice System and other ISA’s.

In all my graphite creations I use brushes, graphite dust, and stencil curves to create detailed work. The painstaking focus to produce a realistic piece pushes the box the state has placed me in.

My paintings and abstract work is a form of unleashing anger, frustration, depression and heart ache in one frame. Art has been the string of hope that has dragged me through many tragic events over my stay in TDCJ.

Art is freedom, hope, and a voice when I feel silenced” – Charles D Hill
